Milliman Research: 2017 U.S. Organ and Tissue Transplant Costs | ||
As technology, innovation,
treatment options and care coordination all continue to advance, the
impact and implications of organ and tissue transplant resource
utilization becomes even more significant for healthcare stakeholders.
Possessing and understanding current intelligence regarding transplant
costs, utilization and demographics is critical in this regard. Milliman conducts a triennial study, summarizing estimated U.S. average costs per member per month, billed charges, and utilization related to the 30 days prior and 180 days after transplant admission for organ and tissue transplants. Organ transplants include single-organ transplants such as heart, intestine, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, and a number of multiple-organ transplants. Tissue transplants include bone marrow and cornea transplants. The Milliman study addresses costs pmpm, charges, utilization, hospital lengths of stay, prevalence, regional distribution, primary diagnoses, waiting times, survival rates, recipient demographics, and donor data. Please join us Thursday, October 12th, 2017 as Milliman's T. Scott Bentley and Steve Phillips discuss their study. Click here for detailed information and to register or call 209.577.4888. |
