Overview

Risk adjustment, according to the PPACA, is a requirement for state health insurance exchanges. It also plays a central role in leveling the playing field for Accountable Care Organizations (ACO), bundled physician payments, and Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMH). Billions of dollars are already moved around every year based on risk adjustment, and a lot more will be moved around under health reform. Successful reform demands accurate, fair, and practical risk adjustment for each specific application.

In this webinar, we will discuss:

  • Risk adjustment in provider contracting and payment reform such as ACO, PCMH and episode-based bundled payments
  • What risk adjustment systems are necessary in state health insurance exchanges
  • Considerations, pitfalls, when to customize, evaluating off-the-shelf tools
