AHIP's Exchange Conference, December 5-6

  In this session, you'll learn what information consumers need in order to make smart health care decisions. The speakers will take a closer look at the new consumer, potential outreach and education strategies, the role of assisters and navigators, and the operational implications for health plans to support this robust retail environment.

• Exchanges as Facilitators or Marketplace Disruptors? The Role of Private Exchanges in Transforming how Health Insurance Coverage is Provided
  In this session, you'll learn about the various private Exchange models that are beginning to develop. Speakers will address questions about the role of health insurance plans in private Exchanges, as well as lessons learned that may spur innovation in health benefits to complement the changing labor market.

• Member Movement between Medicaid, the Exchange, and ESI
  In this new health care environment, consumers have the potential to move between Medicaid, the Exchange, and employer sponsored insurance. They will at times be eligible for subsidies or premium assistance. You'll have an opportunity to hear about strategies being considered by states to monitor eligibility, reduce the churn, and ensure continuity in care.

• Plan Design: EHB, Actuarial Value, and Risk Management
  How should new health insurance products be designed to meet the Federal guidance on EHB? What about market reform rules and outstanding guidance on actuarial value? What considerations should be made and planned for in the absence of rules? In this session you'll receive insight and perspective to assist you in better understanding your next steps in product development.

• Where Do We Stand? Examining the Key Issues for Exchange Implementation
  You'll gain an overview of the state-by-state political and policy landscape. Our speakers will set the stage for the conference and provide insight to help attendees frame their thoughts and perspectives on Exchange implementation.
