Few programs
have created as much turmoil for hospitals and other providers since the
introduction of the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program four years
ago by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. Medicare and Medicaid RACS have succeeded in clawing back hundreds of millions of dollars in payments from hospitals. But those hospitals have been under pressure to carefully evaluate virtually every inpatient admission and many large categories of procedures in order to avoid RAC audits and clawbacks. That leaves providers worrying and wondering about what claims may be the subject of a RAC audit, how to respond when audited, and what the options are for pushing back. Those and other questions will be answered at the latest Payers & Providers webinar event: The Virtual RAC Survival Guide. |
