Forces of Change provides the insight necessary for participants to lead change effectively with sessions on project management in health care. Sessions on project management present findings from a recent nationwide survey of U.S. hospitals conducted by The Project Management in Health Care Programs at Harvard School of Public Health and Towers Watson. Results and analysis of the survey, as well as recommendations for improving project management capabilities in hospitals can be found in this 2011 white paper by the Harvard School of Public Health and Towers Watson.

Upon completion of Forces, participants will:

Michael J. Dowling is President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Quality Forum 2010 National Quality Healthcare Award-winning North Shore-LIJ Health System, which delivers world-class clinical care throughout the New York metropolitan area. North Shore-LIJ is the largest integrated healthcare system in New York State. Before coming to North Shore-LIJ, Mr. Dowling worked in the New York State government, and as a professor at Fordham University. Mr. Dowling will lead a session at Forces entitled Introducing and then Sustaining Clinical Change in Hospitals.
