He worked for many years at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he was Director, Division of Health Systems Research, and led research on risk adjustment for capitation, cancer care costs and outcomes and end of life costs. He was a member of the health reform task forces of the Bush (elder) and Clinton administrations and a consultant on health reform to the governments of Argentina and Chile.

She is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine and has served two terms on its governing council. Dr. Wilensky testifies frequently before Congressional committees, serves as an advisor to members of Congress and other elected officials, speaks nationally and internationally before professional, business and consumer groups. Linda Magno directs the Medicare Demonstrations Group at CMS. Her group is responsible for developing, implementing and managing Medicare demonstrations of new models of health care delivery for the nation’s 40 million Medicare beneficiaries.
