Program Highlights

What is the Forces of Change Program?

The Forces executive education program is designed and directed by David A. Shore, PhD and based around the end-to-end conceptual Forces of Change model. Expert Harvard faculty and industry thought leaders explore topics in stakeholder management, patient safety, and project management with new sessions on health information technology, the implementation imperative, and health reform. In 2011, Forces will focus on the theme "driving implementation in an era of disruption, innovation and change."

What is the Forces of Change Model?

The Forces of Change model offers leaders a broad view of the players and forces at work in the health care industry, along with strategic direction to gain competitive advantage. The model examines critical areas of the health care system and provides the strategies and actions leaders can take to implement change despite the difficult environment. Each session in the program offers further discussion on the elements in the model.

Who Should Participate in Forces of Change?

Forces is ideal for all those seeking to improve the quality of patient care, reduce the cost of providing that care, enhance stakeholder satisfaction, address critical workforce challenges, and in the process, create a unique and sustainable competitive advantage. Forces is also recommended for corporate executives responsible for the strategy, design, and delivery of health care programs. Most importantly, Forces is designed for the health care leader who is driven to transform ideas into action and those interested in the intersection of health care and business.

Participant Experience

"Implementation of any new program or technology requires that the right people are around the table. Buy-in from stakeholders helped complete our implementation of CPOE in a very successful way."
