Prepare Your IT Team to Face the Challenges Ahead

With increased emphasis on business intelligence, integration, ICD-10 conversions, interoperability, and many innovations resulting from health care reform, your IT team is almost certainly facing their most challenging year yet. We’ve developed an IT Series, including two prestigious designations, that combines mobile-friendly courses, webinars, workshops, and more. It’s designed to provide the skills and knowledge required of health care IT employees throughout this changing environment. And because it is flexible, it fits into busy schedules.

The AHIP IT Series

Participants in the program acquire credits toward earning two IT professional designations -- Information Technology Professional (ITP) and Information Technology Fellow (ITF).

Earn ITP by passing four online mobile-friendly courses, which provide you with the basic knowledge required to thrive in the health care IT field:

• ICD-10 and 5010 Mandate - A Technology View
  This course covers the basic understanding of ICD-10 code sets, ICD-9 to ICD-10 conversions, plus coding diagnoses and inpatient hospital procedures.
• Overview of Payer IT, Part A (coming soon)
  In this course, you'll learn about customer facing systems, such as self-service portals, call center IVR, intake systems, and more. Plus, the curriculum covers core payer systems, including membership enrollment, billing, benefits management, and more.
• Overview of Payer IT, Part B (coming soon)
  Take this course to learn about supporting systems; such as medical management, health and wellness programs, product development, and core administration systems; plus technology infrastructure, including security and risk management, network management, portfolio and project management, and more.
• Health Insurance 101 for IT (coming soon)

By earning and maintaining ITF, you will be kept informed of the latest IT needs, innovations, theories, market trends, and more. Acquire 50 credits within two years to initially gain the ITF; earn 20 additional credits every subsequent two year period to maintain the designation.

Credits are obtained by:

• Attending IT workshops, including The Future of Payer IT workshop at AHIP's Institute 2013, June 12-14, Las Vegas, NV
• Participating in the IT Program's webinars
• Earning the Information Technology Professional (ITP) designation
