A Year in Five-Star
Quality Rating Improvements

Each year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) publishes its Five-Star Ratings report, which measures the quality performance of Medicare Advantage plans and allows beneficiaries to make more informed decisions related to their Medicare options. CMS’ Five-Star Quality Rating System bases its evaluation on a combination of quality and performance measures, as well as an annual review that includes feedback from stakeholders.

Since its inception, the Five-Star program has consistently helped plans improve their quality performance.
